MIXED MEDIA COLLAGES AND PORTRAITS

I never understood the beauty of mixed media art until I put my hands on my first glue gun. At that moment, I knew I had found something special! What I love the most about mixed media is the opportunity to expand ideas through a large variety of mediums.

Over the past years, my art has evolved into a mix of painting and collage work. Here are examples of my work.

WATERCOLORS AND ILLUSTRATIONS

Creating abstract compositions with watercolors is a meditative experience. It's about simplicity, a few brush strokes, and absence of control. When I work on these compositions, I can lose myself in the colors' path and mix. It's a subtle technique but full of surprises and never dull.

“Find a voice that's all mine”

I began drawings illustrations because my second feature requires a few animated collages sequences. Working as an art teacher, I had the opportunity to observe how children create art, the way they simplify any subjects to their core, and how anything they draw is alive and has a soul.

Animals can smile, flowers can be sad, and the sun is happy. Everything is animated!

This simple way to draw offers me the chance to feel like a little kid and still create something meaningful that can be used in a children's book.
